About Cornerstone Home Inspection
Cornerstone Home Inspection was started in 2026 by Seth Murray. Seth's background is rather varied, and includes decades of study and training in physics, engineering, music, philosophy, theology, computer science, business, and martial arts. He has worked in and for multi-billion dollar international companies like Intel and Evergreen Aviation, in small and large churches, and directed small businesses.
For the last decade (until about 2024) he mostly taught and tutored for churches, colleges, academies, and as a one-on-one tutor. That changed substantially over recent years as artificial intelligence (AI) has grown and displaced a lot of tutoring.
After many months of researching different career/work options, home inspection repeatedly came up as a good match given Seth's analytic mind, general mechanical aptitude, and ability to communicate clearly and gently. So in 2026 Seth started training with the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) and became certified in May of 2026. Part of what he enjoys about home inspection is helping people understand their homes better, and identifying and correcting problems while they are still small and manageable -- before they turn into something big, expensive, and dangerous.
In addition to home inspection, Seth has been a life-long martial artist (with four earned black belts in different styles), and he hosts/coaches jiu jitsu from his home several times a week. He continues to tutor people around the world in philosophy, logic, religion, and computer science. He has been married for over three decades and has seven children and four grandchildren. He is a priest and pastor of a small mission chapel in McMinnville, Holy Family Old Catholic Church (which is strangely fitting, since the Old Testament describes how priests did "home inspections" after a fashion for the Israelites).
